Thanks to innovative scientists and pharmaceutical companies, we can treat, cure, and eliminate many diseases that used to cripple or kill us in the past. Think Polio. Measles. Tuberculosis. Kidney transplants. Blood transfusions. Cholesterol-lowering drugs that prevent the risk, cost, recovery time, and lost productivity of bypass surgery. Without an economic incentive, innovation stagnates. Through biomedical research, many lives are set free.

This sculpture is set into the wall of GlaxoSmithKline's Philadelphia offices at 16th and Vine.
