The Devil in the White City

I found this on the sidewalk a couple months ago, and it was sitting near where I usually feed Sonnet. I managed to read the whole thing in 30 minute increments over 3 days. It's about the Chicago World Fair of 1893, following in parallel the careers of the main architect of the fair, Daniel Burnham, and a doctor and serial killer, H. H. Holmes, who killed dozens of victims, mostly young women, nearby. Quite good.

Finished August 17th.

Holmes part of the story, The Beast of Chicago, which is part of his A Treasury of Victorian Murder series. I admit that I skimmed over some of the architecture design review committee meeting passages. The H. H.
